Antoine Semenyo says the Black Stars have their 'future in their hands' in their bid to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana currently sit top of Group I in the qualifying series after beating Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, with a 5-0 score.
Semenyo, who was on the scoresheet on the day, dreams of returning to the global stage once again, having represented the Black Stars during the 2022 edition in Qatar.
"I think anyone wants to play at the World Cup; not many players can say they've played at the World Cup. So, we have such a good opportunity to qualify now. First, we need to win these two games," he told Lawrence Baidoo in an exclusive interview with SuperSport.
"Playing on the biggest stage in the world, everyone loves to play, but not everyone loves to watch players play in the World Cup.
"So for us, we've got the opportunity in our hands, so we just need to take it."
After scoring against Chad, Semenyo will hope he can get on the scoresheet again when the Black Stars face Madagascar in their next game on Monday, March 24, in an attempt to stretch their lead in Group I of the World Cup Qualifiers.
