Vision FC forward Edmund Asante has been named in Ghana’s U-20 squad for a four-nation tournament in Morocco, as part of preparations for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Head coach Desmond Ofei announced his squad on Saturday, March 15, 2025, ahead of the trip, where Ghana will compete against Morocco and two other nations.

The tournament will serve as a key test for the Black Satellites as they fine-tune their squad ahead of the AFCON, scheduled for April 26 to May 18, 2025, in Côte d'Ivoire.
Edmund Asante has been a standout performer in the team’s preparation matches, showcasing his attacking versatility.
His inclusion in the squad highlights his growing importance to the team as they aim for continental success.
New Additions to the Squad
Coach Ofei has introduced several new faces, including Mohammed Araphat (FC Nordsjaelland), Lord Afrifa (Sturm Graz), Rio Grant (Coventry City), Evan Le Gall (France-born Ghanaian forward), Yeboah Elton (KV Mechelen), Tabiri Kwame (FC Dordrecht), Reverson Paul Peters (Ajax U21, goalkeeper), Adjabeng Andrews (Real Sociedad II), Azafokpe Maxwell (Mighty Jet), Hayford Boahen (Cheetah FC), Ofori Obed (VFL Bochum U19), Ahiable Kelvin (Dreams FC), Tahid T. Jordan (Vancouver FC), Ofori Curtis (Nordic City), Michael Amer, Addo Ishmael, Yendare Manuel, Abdul Manaf Ansah.
Returning Players from African Games Gold Medal Squad
The squad also includes key members from the Black Satellites team that won gold at the 2023 African Games in Accra, such as Saeed Yakubu (Medeama, goalkeeper), Aziz Musibua (Dreams FC, forward), Aaron Essel (St. Johnstone, defender), MacCarthy Ofori (FK Bylis, defender), Emmanuel Mensah (Sogndal, left-winger), Abdul Hakim Sulemana (Randers, forward).
Ghana has been drawn in Group A alongside host Côte d'Ivoire, Tanzania, DR Congo, and a team from the Central African Football Federations Union (UNIFAC).
Asante and his teammates will be looking to build momentum in Morocco as they set their sights on continental success.
