Ghanaian musician Bashir Annan, known as Gambo, has earned a nomination for International Collaboration of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) with his song Drip Remix.
The track, featuring US rapper Jim Jones and Ghanaian artist Edem, has been recognised for its fusion of Afro-hip-hop and cultural representation.
The Drip Remix music video, shot in New York, showcases strong Ghanaian cultural elements, with Jim Jones notably wearing kente, symbolizing the growing influence of Ghanaian heritage in global music collaborations.
The nomination places Gambo in a competitive category alongside other top artists such as Stonebwoy, King Promise, Joe Mettle, and Diana Hamilton.
This year’s TGMA nominations span multiple categories, including Best HipHop Song, Best Afrobeat Song, Best Highlife Song, Best Hiplife Song, and Best Music Video.
So far, Charterhouse has released nominees for several key categories, including Best HipHop Song, Best Afrobeat Song, Best Hiplife Song, Best Highlife Song, Best Urban Contemporary Gospel Song, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song, Best Music Video, Best Male Vocal Performance, and Best Female Vocal Performance.
With strong contenders across various genres, the awards ceremony is expected to be highly competitive.
