The English Premier League trophy has left Ghana after a successful 4-day visit, marking another exciting chapter in its global tour.
Brought to the country by Guinness, the official beer sponsor of the league, the trophy’s arrival on Friday night was met with enthusiastic fanfare at the airport, where local football supporters eagerly awaited its arrival.
The highly anticipated visit continued with a press conference featuring former Premier League stars John Paintsil and John Mensah, both of whom shared their experiences of the league and their time playing in England. The event highlighted the growing influence of the Premier League in Ghana, a nation with an undeniable passion for football.
The tour culminated in a live viewing event held at the Pitstop Bar in Labone. Fans flocked to the venue for a chance to witness the iconic trophy up close and take photos with it, an experience that many described as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Estella Muzito, the Director of Marketing at Guinness Ghana, reflected on the significance of the trophy's visit. She noted that it was not just about the spectacle, but also about reinforcing the company's ongoing commitment to football fans in Ghana.
“The Premier League is not just a global brand; it’s a passion that resonates deeply with fans here in Ghana. This visit is a testament to Guinness' commitment to bringing the best of football to our fans. We understand the love Ghanaians have for the game, and we are proud to support the growth of football culture in the country,” Muzito said.
Guinness, through its sponsorship of the Premier League, has been playing an instrumental role in bringing global football events closer to fans, not just in Ghana but across the world. With this visit, the excitement surrounding the league in Ghana was undeniably palpable, leaving fans eager for more as they continue to celebrate their love for the beautiful game.
