The Premier League trophy will arrive in Ghana on Friday, March 14, marking an exciting moment for football fans across the country.
This special visit is part of a global tour made possible by Guinness, the official beer sponsor of the Premier League. As one of the most passionate football nations in Africa, Ghana is the first stop on the continent to host the coveted trophy this season.
The arrival of the trophy will be celebrated in true Ghanaian style, with the Ghana Supporters Union Jama team, a brass band, and an official address at the airport. Following the welcoming ceremony, a press conference will be held at the Marriott Hotel.
Fans will have the chance to engage with the trophy in person, as part of a celebration of football and the Premier League’s relationship with Ghanaian fans.
Additionally, the trophy will make stops at selected media stations, engaging with fans across various platforms on Saturday, March 15.
Then on Sunday, March 16, the trophy will be unveiled at the Pitspot Restaurant and Sports Bar during the Arsenal vs. Chelsea game. The event will feature a dynamic mix of ex-Premier League players, sports journalists, influencers, and passionate Premier League fans, all coming together to share in the excitement.
Football is a powerful passion point for Ghanaians, and Guinness has long been associated with match-day excitement in the country. And this marks a special opportunity to bring the Premier League closer to Ghanaians who live and breathe football.
Before arriving in Ghana, the Premier League trophy toured other locations as part of its global journey, and Ghana is the first African country to host the iconic symbol of the Premier League this season.
After Ghana, the trophy will continue its journey through other key African markets, including Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, and beyond, allowing fans across the continent to experience the excitement of the Premier League up close.
