The President, John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Dr Saajida Shiraz as the Ag. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).
A distinguished expert in political science, public policy, and social justice, Dr Shiraz brings extensive experience in governance and economic management.
She has a strong background in policy development and implementation, making her well-suited for this role.
Dr Shiraz holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Philosophy in Political Science from the University of Ghana, along with a Master of Science in Public Policy from University College, London.
Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in shaping policies that foster inclusivity and economic empowerment.
Prior to this appointment, she served as the Director of Programmes and Operations at the African Centre for Governance and Economic Management.
She is also a graduate of the African Women’s Development Fund Feminist Leadership and Coaching Programme, a MILEAD Fellow, and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society.
The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) was established in December 2005 under the Trustee Incorporation Act 1962, Act 106.
The objectives of the Trust Fund are to provide financial resources for the sound management of the Trust for the benefit of students and to help promote and facilitate the national ideals enshrined in Article 25 and 38 of the 1992 Constitution.
