Executive Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Gifty Oware-Mensah, is currently with the Black Queens in Morocco amid reports of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) searching for her for questioning.
Recent media reports suggested that the Berry Ladies' bankroller had travelled abroad following the New Patriotic Party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections and was unlikely to return anytime soon.
According to developing reports, the NIB wants to question Oware-Mensah as part of ongoing investigations into alleged payroll misappropriation at the National Service Authority (NSA).
However, sources have told Joy Sports the former Deputy Director of the NSA is currently with the senior women's national team in Casablanca as she discharges her duties as Chairperson of the Management Committee.
The Queens are in Morocco for a training tour as part of preparations for the rescheduled 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
Kim Lars Bjorkegren's side played the Atlas Lionesses on Friday and lost 1-0 and are expected to play Raja Casablanca Women later on Monday as part of their activities.
Oware-Mensah was elected as the Women’s Premier League representative on the ExCo on October 5, 2024. She also serves as the Chairperson of the Black Queens’ Management Committee.
