A chilling discovery of the body of a 40-year-old man on Tuesday morning sent shockwaves through the small town of Assin-Bosomadwe in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
Kwabena Tandoh, a resident of Assin-Tomfokro, had been seeking spiritual healing for a swollen neck at a prayer camp in Akrampa but was found dead in a bush under bizarre circumstances.
However, his journey to recovery took a deadly turn when he mysteriously went missing during his treatment.
A search party was organised by the community, but Mr Tandoh’s whereabouts remained unknown until his lifeless body was discovered this morning lying face down in the bush, partially clothed in black jeans trousers and a belt.
“The entire community is reeling in shock. Some residents earlier reported a strong, unpleasant odour coming from the bush two days before the discovery,” Mr Kofi Amponsah, a nephew of the deceased said.
A police source confirmed the tragedy and said the police had begun investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death.
