In a significant legal victory, the Accra Circuit Court 3, presided over by Her Honour Susana Eduful, has today, 19th February 2025, struck out the tax fraud case against Collins Amoah, citing a lack of locus standi and evidentiary basis.
This ruling not only exonerates Amoah but also exposes a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation for political gain.
From the outset, the allegations against Collins Amoah appeared to be politically motivated. A man’s reputation precedes him, and Amoah has earned a good one over the years through hard work, prudence, and integrity.
Anyone with discernment could see that this was an orchestrated effort by adversaries using mala fides(bad faith) litigation as a tool for character assassination.
In the realm of politics, where perception often overshadows truth, false accusations can cause irreparable damage.
However, the principles of audi alteram partem (let the other side be heard) and nemo tenetur se ipsum accusare (no one is bound to incriminate himself) have prevailed in Amoah’s favour, reaffirming the fundamental legal doctrine that an accused person remains innocent until proven guilty.
