The Ghana Association of Banks (GAB) has elected Kwamina Asomaning, the current Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana, as its new President.
He succeeds John Kofi Adomakoh, who has completed his tenure following his departure from GCB Bank Plc.
In a statement, GAB expressed gratitude to Mr. Adomakoh for his dedicated service to the banking industry.
Highlighting Mr. Asomaning’s expertise, the Association noted that he brings extensive experience in both international and local finance.
“Mr Asomaning’s proven leadership, coupled with his strategic approach to innovation, makes him well-positioned to lead the Association in strengthening industry collaboration, enhancing financial stability, and promoting sustainable economic growth in Ghana’s banking sector,” the statement read.
Under Mr Asomaning’s leadership, Stanbic Bank Ghana has been recognised for its innovation, customer focus, and commitment to sustainable banking practices.
GAB welcomed his appointment and expressed enthusiasm about working with him to advance Ghana’s banking industry.
The Association also announced other elected executives Hakim Ouzzani, Managing Director of SG Ghana, will continue as Vice President, while Henry Onwuzurigbo, Managing Director of Zenith Bank Ghana, remains the Treasurer.
