Josephine Oppong-Yeboah, a Ghanaian media figure and gender advocate, has urged the government to prioritise appointing more women to political positions.
She emphasised that empowering women in leadership roles is essential for Ghana's growth and development.
Ms. Oppong-Yeboah highlighted the significance of equal representation in decision-making, pointing out that women offer distinct perspectives and solutions.
While applauding the government for its appointment of women in key leadership positions so far in a media interview, she urged the government to do more, considering the untapped potential of women in Ghana.
"Women are a vital part of our society's fabric. To advance our nation, we must elevate more women to leadership positions," she said.
Ms. Oppong-Yeboah also emphasised that women in political offices must deliver concrete results and prove themselves capable of leading effectively.
She encouraged women in political positions to go beyond ceremonial roles and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
Her advocacy is part of a broader push for gender equality, as she believes that empowering women is essential for societal and economic growth.
