Former Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman, Yaw Obimpeh, has been elected as the Council of State representative for the region.
He secured 49 votes, defeating Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, who polled 35 votes.
Daniel Anarfi Yamoah placed third with one vote, while one delegate failed to attend the election.
Following the chaos during the initial round of the election last week, the police had to review and enhance security arrangements for the rerun.
Police mounted barricades at all exits leading to the frontage of the Prempeh Assembly Hall.

The road linking Asem and it's environs to the Roman Hill end of the Central Business District were closed to vehicular traffic.
Per security arrangements, only accredited individuals including two supporters of each candidate had access to the venue.
Accredited persons were photographed by the police before being granted access to the premises of the election.
A candidate in the election, Frederick Agyei says the police went by the protocols for the election.
As at midday, less than thirty of the 86 delegates had cast their ballots.
About 40 of the delegates were bussed to the location, with NDC Chairman, Nana Akwasi Augustus Andrews leading them.
