The Senior Staff Association of GOIL has debunked media publication calling for the probe of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Jacob Kwabena Adjei.
It is therefore calling on the public and all stakeholders to disregard the claims.
In a statement, it urged media houses to verify any information about GOIL before publication to avoid misleading the public.
It pointed out that “We, the workers of GOIL stand united behind Jacob Kwabena Adjei who has worked with the GOIL Group for over 18 years in many key positions, including Treasurer, Finance Manager for GoEnergy, CFO (Chief Finance Officer) of GOIL, Group CFO, and now Group CEO & MD [Managing Director) and reaffirm our confidence in his continued leadership for the progress of the company”.
The Senior Staff Association was responding to a media publication on Monday February 17, 2025, with the title "GOIL Workers Welcome Edward Bawa as New CEO, Demand Probe of Predecessor."
The association categorically stated that this claim is false, misleading, and does not represent the views of GOIL workers, noting that “As workers of GOIL, we remain resolute in our support for our current Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Jacob Kwabena Adjei”.

“We must clarify that Jacob Kwabena Adjei’s appointment took effect from December 2, 2024, and he immediately put in place a three-year strategic plan and shared with staff at a durbar. The results have been remarkable, signaling a promising future for the company; sales and revenue collection have significantly improved, injecting much-needed positive energy into the company”.
For the records, the Senior Staff said Jacob Kwabena Adjei has been in office for only three months, having taken over the management of the Company from Kwame Osei-Prempeh, who superintended over the company for the past six years.
“We wish to also clarify that, at no point have GOIL workers made any such pronouncements, nor have we demanded any probe of our respected leadership. Such claims are baseless and parochial in nature and appear to be calculated to serve individual interests. It is also believed aimed at sowing discord within the company”, it alluded.
“We the workers of GOIL stand united behind Jacob Kwabena Adjei who has worked with the GOIL Group for over 18 years in many key positions, including Treasurer, Finance Manager for GoEnergy, CFO of GOIL, Group CFO, and now Group CEO & MD and reaffirm our confidence in his continued leadership for the progress of the company”, it concluded.
