The Ghana Police Service has arrested the General Manager of Elmina Sharks, Kelvin Aboagye.
This is in connection with an attack on a referee during a Division One football match between Elmina Sharks and Swedru All Blacks.
The incident occurred on February 16, 2025, at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina, Central Region, following the conclusion of the game.

According to the police, Kelvin Aboagye, along with other individuals, physically assaulted the referee and some supporters after the match.
The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest the remaining culprits involved in the attack.
