An Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association, Fred Acheampong, has urged Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams to focus on his core mandate, instead of granting interviews.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Kessben FM on Friday, Fred Acheampong suggested that Kofi Adams consistent presence in the media was because he needed to be seen to be working.
''Maybe because of my background as a politician, I understand him. He is a politician and must be seen to be doing something so people must hear him. I think it would have been better if he had taken his time. I personally believe that the interviews have become too many.''
In the past month, Kofi Adams has increased his engagement with the media, granting interviews to the countries media houses.
Before his swearing in last week, Kofi Adams had been on six media platforms for separate radio and television interviews.
After his swearing in, there was one more interview with Metro TV in the past week.
This according to Fred Acheampong, is not a great look.
''Apart from the interviews, there is nothing he has done since he was appointed as the Sports Minister. What has he done? Nothing. But we have seen him grant different interviews.
''So I think when he took over, he should have done one big interview, to address key issues after visiting all the various sports federations and assessing everything. Has he visited the NSA? No. Has he visited the Winneba Sports College? No. The Ministry is so big but it looks like he will be focused only on football.''
Joy Sports can confirm that the Minister has met with staff and officials of the Ministry and the National Sports Authority, contrary to Fred Acheampong's claims.

A GFA delegation led by General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo met the Sports Minister last week
In the past week, Kofi Adams also met with officials of the GFA at the Sports Ministry; a meeting Fred Acheampong did not attend although other Executive Council Members were present.
Also missing conspicuously, was GFA president Kurt Okraku and his vice, Mark Addo.
