Ghanaian musician Mr. Drew has revealed the challenges and inspiration behind his iconic bald look.
In a recent interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Mr. Drew disclosed that having a bald head isn't without challenges.
Mr. Drew shared that he has to be mindful of the sun: "We can't really walk in the sun because ego really blaze the brain, yeah man," he said in Pidgin English.
Because of this, he said he avoids video shoots during the day.
"I don't like shoots during the day, I remember like if we get shoots during the day ano like am. Chale, edey make my head dey ache. Coz the sun shines direct, edey cool your brain. Chale, ano fit,"
On a lighter note, Mr. Drew talked about the benefits of having a bald head.
"Bald cut - easy going. Barbers no dey chop my money coz me naa Adey shave my head. If you go chop my money, ebe sake of my beard," he quipped.
Asked about his inspiration, Mr. Drew explained that he "wanted something that would stand out" in the music industry.
Mr. Drew's bold decision to rock a bald head is a deliberate move to carve out his unique identity as a young musician in an industry dominated by dreadlocks and other hairstyles.
Interestingly, his bald look isn't a result of hair loss, but rather a personal choice - he regularly shaves his head, and can grow his hair back at will.
