The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has confirmed the association’s plans to make changes to the Black Stars technical team.
Joy Sports understands the FA is set to part ways with John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann with replacements lined up.
The move is part of the association’s plans to strengthen the backroom staff of the Black Stars team headed by Otto Addo.
Speaking to Joy Sports, Asante Twum confirmed additions to the technical team was one of the considerations during the Executive Council’s meeting last year.
“After the last meeting where Otto [Addo] presented his report to the Council, there were loads of considerations, discussions, analyses. They looked at the all the departments, the technical team, backroom staff and other service providers,” he said.
“At the end of the day, there was the need to make some changes.”
While the decision has not officially been communicated, the changes are expected to happen before the team assembles for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
