The Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Samuel Awuku, has officially tendered his resignation, effective January 13, 2025.
This move follows his successful election as the Member of Parliament for the Akuapem North Constituency, where he has been sworn in to represent his constituents.
In a formal letter addressed to President John Mahama, Mr Awuku expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Director-General since his appointment in August 2021.
Mr Awuku emphasised his commitment to his new parliamentary responsibilities and requested the appointment of a successor to ensure a seamless transition at the NLA.
"I have been elected as the Member of Parliament for the Akwapim North constituency and have been duly sworn in to represent my constituents. In the light of this new responsibility, I wish to focus my efforts on serving as a Member of Parliament," he stated in his resignation letter.
The presidency is yet to announce a replacement for the position of Director-General at the NLA.
