Finally a tangible means by which parents can pick schools for their wards. Making a choice of the best private schools in Ghana has been a complicated task but that is in the past now thanks a new book “Guide To Schools” magazine.
The much-anticipated 'Guide to Schools' magazine was launched at the new Olympiad Educentre in Accra on Friday, 27 December 2024.
This magazine, featuring 100 of the top provite schools in Ghana seeks to serve as an invaluable tool for educators, parents, and students alike, providing insightful information and guidance on various educational topics.
'Guide to Schools' magazine is a culmination of weary days and sleepless nights of collaboration and research, tweaking and fine-tuning among schools, parents and experts in the education space.
The publication is envisioned to satisfy the longing of parents and students for a resource material that offers a deeper dive into the Ghanaian educational landscape.
Given the increasing demand for quality information about schools and academic programs, 'Guide to Schools' provides a solution tailor-made to the needs of today’s information-inclined society.
“This guide has come at an opportune time where parents are looking for best-fit schools based on a certain criteria. The Guide empowers parents (and students) to make school decisions backed by relevant data,” Olympiad Academy CEO, Abel Acquaye who came up with the idea said.
The role of education in moulding the future cannot be overemphasized, and selecting the right school is an equally critical assignment. “With this Guide there's no need for parents to hop from school to school to receive basic information on a school. The Guide now helps them to sift through the offerings and make an informed choice,” education consultant Anis Haffar added.
'Guide to Schools' is therefore intended to help families zero in on the type of learning culture that is suitable to the potential of the child.
In its first edition, you will find: in-depth profiles of leading international schools; insights into curriculum options (IB, British, American and more); information on extracurricular activities, resources, and facilities; and expert advice on choosing the right school for your child’s needs.
Present at the launch of the magazine were Mr Anis Haffar, a board member of the GOA, Mr
Michael Oti Adjei, a board member of the GOA, and Mr Abel Acquaye, Executive Director of the ATDP-Ghana/GOA.
Speaking briefly about the conception to fruition phases of this novel project, Abel Acquaye disclosed that the edtech, data, and research arm of the ADTP/GOA, Africa Schools Online, was responsible for the production of the project.
He added that ‘Guide to Schools’ features 100 of the top international schools in Ghana, and admonished families to make the 'Guide to Schools' a part and parcel of their essential items.
Abel also lauded the resourcefulness and resilience of the team that put the magazine together and assured families of more innovative projects on education in the coming days.
