Executive Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, Chief Executive of Chef Faila's Kitchen, has donated essential items to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) to commemorate the first anniversary of her Guinness World Record-breaking attempt for the longest cooking marathon (Cook-a-thon) by an individual.
The donation included toiletries, rice, water, soap, washing powder, buckets, beverages, an unspecified amount of cash, and other items.
Presenting the items to the hospital authorities in Tamale, Chef Failatu expressed her gratitude to the medical staff at TTH for their unwavering support during her cook-a-thon.
She also extended her appreciation to the medical team at the Kamina Barracks Military Hospital, stating, "Today on n this same historic day, I had the entire Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Kamina Barracks Military Hospital coming through for me with wonderful doctors and nurses standing on their feet and running shifts through the day and night for 10 days."
Chef Failatu’s cook-a-thon began on January 1, 2024, and concluded on January 10, 2024.
In addition to thanking individuals, organizations, and brands that supported her during the event, she offered advice to the youth, urging them to embrace hard work, determination, and humility.
"I hope my fellow youth will look at me and decide not to go wayward. We need to stay away from drugs and all manner of criminal activities," she said.
Hajia Rashida Muhammed, Administrator of TTH, received the items on behalf of the hospital and expressed her gratitude.
"TTH alone cannot achieve the excellence we aspire to. We need support from everyone and the community to help us achieve our goals," she remarked.
