The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region has extended its warmest congratulations to former Minster for the Interior, Prosper Bani, on his appointment as the leader of the interim National Security Coordinating Team.
His appointment is seen as a significant step towards addressing the country's pressing security challenges during this transitional period.
The announcement, made through an official press release signed by James Gunu, the Regional Secretary of the Volta NDC, commended Mr Bani’s exceptional leadership skills and extensive experience in national and international governance.
The release also expressed the party’s gratitude to President-elect John Dramani Mahama for his confidence in Mr Bani’s capabilities and for entrusting him with this critical role at a time when the nation is grappling with security and economic challenges.
Describing the appointment as “well-deserved,” the Volta NDC highlighted Prosper Bani’s track record of effective leadership and his ability to deliver results even in high-pressure situations.
Mr Bani, a former Chief of Staff during President Mahama’s administration, is widely recognized for his professionalism and dedication to public service. His new role will involve overseeing and coordinating national security matters until substantive appointments are made.

According to the NDC, the team’s collaborative efforts under Mr Bani’s leadership will be instrumental in tackling the nation’s security issues.
The Volta NDC did not shy away from addressing the state of the nation, criticizing the incumbent Akufo-Addo-led government for what they described as a period of “hardship and insecurity.”
The party believes that the challenges confronting the country require the input of experienced leaders like Hon. Prosper Bani.
“The current state of our nation, marked by hardship and insecurity, necessitates immediate attention from experienced leaders. Hon. Prosper Bani and his team have the expertise and dedication needed to ensure that Ghana works again for the benefit of all citizens,” the statement emphasized.
The Volta NDC expressed optimism that Mr Bani will steer the team effectively to deliver results that restore the nation’s security and stability.
His leadership is expected to bring a renewed sense of direction and hope for a secure Ghana, aligning with the broader vision of the incoming Mahama administration to rebuild the nation and improve the livelihoods of its citizens.
Prosper Bani’s role in this transitional period is seen as pivotal, and his appointment has been met with widespread approval within the NDC and beyond.
As the party pledges its unwavering support for his endeavors, it also called on Ghanaians to rally behind the team as they work to address the country’s security challenges.
The release expressed profound appreciation to President-elect John Dramani Mahama for his strategic selection of leaders to address the country’s urgent needs.
According to the Volta NDC, Hon. Bani’s appointment reflects President Mahama’s commitment to ensuring competent leadership in critical areas of governance.
