Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo is set to become Plymouth Argyle's first January signing after completing his medical at the club.
The 25-year-old is set to sign for the English Championship side from Swedish outfit Elfsborg making the club's first capture in the winter window. He completed his medical on Tuesday, December 31.
Baidoo was among a host of people who were present at the Home Park for Argyle's league game against Bristol City which ended 2-2.
The Ghanaian watched the game from the directors' area in the Lower Mayflower Grandstand as the Pilgrims came from two goals down to snatch a point.
Argyle were close to signing the player in the summer after making a club-record bid for him in August. However, a deal did not materialise as Baidoo chose to ensure Elfsborg's qualification for the Europa League.
The attacking midfielder has registered two goals in the European competition already from six games coming against Roma and Galatasaray.
The deal for Baidoo had been agreed before Wayne Rooney's dismissal as the manager of the club last month.
Baidoo will be hoping his addition will be enough to turn Argyle's season around with the club languishing at the bottom of the Championship table.
