Elegant Homes and General Construction, one of Ghana's leading real estate developers, has hosted its annual Health and Family Fun Day at Elegant Courts, an event designed to promote employee well-being and strengthen the company’s workplace culture.
Executive Director, Dorothy Quarshie spoke with Joy Business, highlighting the positive impact the event has on staff, noting that it has contributed to a more supportive and energetic work environment.
“Today is the Family Health and Fun Day for Elegant Homes. We started this programme last year, where our staff and their families received health screenings. After a long and busy year of construction, today, we are taking a break. We believe it’s essential to care for our employees’ health so they can rest and return fully prepared for the business ahead. Good health promotes productivity, and that’s why we organize this event,” Quarshie shared.
The company, renowned for its high-quality residential and commercial properties, prides itself on delivering excellence and focusing on innovative designs to improve living and working environments. In addition to this, Elegant Homes places a strong emphasis on its employees' health, aligning with its goal to foster organizational vitality. Quarshie also expressed hope for next year, anticipating growth in business, new designs, and increased sales. “We look forward to seeing our staff return healthy, just as they leave us this year,” she added.
Dr. Lovia Allotey Babington, the organizer of the medical team, explained that the health screening focused on essential checkups such as blood glucose and blood pressure.
“Given that Elegant Homes employs many male workers, we are also conducting PSA tests for men over 50. The company truly cares about its workers, which is why we’ve brought in nurses, doctors, and pharmacists to provide free medication,” Dr. Babington stated. The day also featured entertainment for the children, interdepartmental sports competitions, and concluded with a celebratory party.
Both Quarshie and Dr. Babington emphasized the importance of these initiatives, looking forward to expanding them in the coming year as they continue to focus on employee health and organizational growth.
