Parliament for Efutu MP Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged his party members to remain optimistic while focusing on strategies to rebrand their political party.
Speaking on Joy FM's Super Morning Show he stressed the importance of unity and collective action, stating, “I believe that if we come together and work as one, 2028 will be ours.”
He reassured party stakeholders and members that the future remains bright, as long as they act together and strategically.
“We may have lost the election, but that is not the end of the road. Let us embrace this moment with joy and optimism, rather than dwelling on setbacks,” he added, calling for a period of reflection and renewal.
With regards to the re-elected party losing in the 2016 general election, Mr Afenyo-Markin noted, "When we were celebrating, the NDC did not feel completely rejected or become depressed.
"Instead, they accepted the reality, went back to the drawing board, re-strategised, and by 2020, they managed to reduce our majority to 137," he started.
He observed, highlighting the importance of regrouping and recalibrating.
While acknowledging the heartache of defeat, Mr Afenyo-Markin called on his party members to remain calm, united, and focused on the future.
“Though we may be heartbroken, we must remain optimistic. With calmness, unity, and collective effort, we can rebrand and strengthen our party to meet the challenges ahead,” he concluded.
