The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully extinguished a fire at the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project on Tuesday evening.
The blaze, which started at approximately 5:52 pm, engulfed five 40-foot containers used as offices for the project.
Nonetheless, firefighters from the Sege and Devtraco Fire Stations responded promptly to the scene.
After over three hours of intense firefighting, they managed to bring the fire under control, officially extinguishing it by 9 pm.
Despite the complete destruction of the containers and their contents, the firefighters’ efforts prevented the flames from spreading to the nearby housing units. No casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are expected to commence shortly. The GNFS has been commended for averting what could have been a larger disaster at the site.
Further updates are anticipated as authorities work to determine the origin of the fire.
