Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has called for an offensive setup for the Black Galaxies in their second-leg encounter against Nigeria in the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
The first leg, held at the Accra Sports Stadium, ended in a goalless draw with Nigeria's Super Eagles B team.
The second leg is scheduled for December 28 in Uyo at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
Agyemang-Badu, who played for the home-based team in the 2009 African Nations Championship in Côte d'Ivoire, is calling for an attacking approach.
“We should be very careful not to go and defend,” he said.
“This is only one game and when you lose, you are not going anywhere. We can’t do that [lose] because mind you, we didn’t qualify for the [2025] Africa Cup of Nations.
“If the CHAN too, we don’t qualify then there will be a little bit of disaster so we will support them, pray them, they [Galaxies] should go all out and win the game for us in the return leg."
The winner of the two-legged tie advances to the CHAN 2025 tournament to be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania next year.
Ghana beat Nigeria on penalties to qualify for the last edition and hope to repeat the feat on December 22.
Nigeria had missed out on the last two editions of the continental event.
