Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle has expressed concerns over the team’s inadequate preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament to be played next year.
Ghana has failed to play any friendly games in the last two international windows as part of their preparations for the continental flagship tournament.
The Queens were expected to face Senegal and Tunisia last month but the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports failed to approve the team’s budget for the friendlies.
The missed opportunity has been followed by reports Nora leaving her role with the Black Queens team after turning down a contract renewal.
The reports add the Swiss could on her way to Zambia who have parted ways with Bruce Mwape.
Fueling the speculations, Nora shared a post on her LinkedIN profile where she highlights the Black Queens lack of games as compared to other nations as part of their readiness for 2024 WAFCON.
In her post, the gaffer highlights the worrying situation of the Queens playing just three games in 2024 in the build up to the competition to be staged in Morocco.
