Fameye has discounted reports that he ended his performance and walked off the stage during a concert in London last week at the Dominion Centre.
A viral video that captures Fameye rebuking the DJ for not playing the right songs while he was performing, has generated conversations in the media circles.
In the video, Fameye is heard lashing out at the DJ for not doing his work well.
Although he has admitted that he was not happy about how the DJ handled his performance set, Fameye told Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that he did not leave the stage.
"Let me do this correction. News reports suggest that I left the stage. I never left the stage. When it was not going well, I just approached the DJ. I finished performing. The people even threw pounds on me, clapped for me and I told them that God bless them so much and that regardless of whatever happened I really appreciated them," he noted.
Fameye explained that the time allocated for his set was limited due to the event running behind schedule.
"I was given only 10 minutes to perform because time was far spent," he added.
In spite of this, he commended the DJ for performing with all the musicians that mounted the stage at the event.
"Our work was not supposed to have happened the way it did. We met, hanged out, shared drinks, he came to my hotel, I did a jingle for him, my DJ linked up with him and gave him the necessary directions, so he did well because he played for all the DJ including the up and coming ones.
He said the DJ may have been overwhelmed with the workload after playing for all the artistes on the bill.
"My frustration was not really for the DJ because he was the only person playing for almost every artiste on the show. For me, I think he was a lil tired," he reiterated.
Meanwhile, Chos Media, the management of DJ Chos, the disc jockey at the centre of Fameye's outburst during his London show, has responded to claims made by the musician regarding the incident.
A statement released on behalf of the DJ indicates that they regret the disappointment surrounding the event which suffered some challenges at the Dominion Centre, Wood Green in London.
"Fameye had only two brief rehearsals with DJ Chos. The first session lasted 12 minutes in DJ Chos' car after Fameye declined a studio session, citing fatigue. The second session, which took place at the venue, lasted 15 minutes. During this time, specific songs were agreed upon for the performance.
During the event, DJ Chos received contradictory instructions from Fameye and a member of his team. A representative repeatedly requested that DJ Chos played Kwaku Ananse for a freestyle, claiming this was a directive from Fameye. Reluctantly, DJ Chos complied under pressure, despite the request being outside the agreed playlist. Subsequently, the same individual instructed DJ Chos to abandon the original playlist and play Very Soon at the last minute, which DJ Chos did. This decision revived the energy in the venue, and Fameye expressed satisfaction with the result. It is worth noting that Nothing I Get (Original), a song Fameye wanted to perform, was not part of the agreed playlist and had not been rehearsed," the management explains.
DJ Chos's management further highlights that Kelvyn Boy and Kweku Flick performed seamlessly on the same night with DJ Chos as their DJ.
