Taptap Send resumes operations in Ghana, urges clients to use the service

Taptap Send, a leading money transfer company, has announced the resumption of its operations in Ghana after a brief pause.

Clients can now resume sending money from the UK, Europe, Canada, the United States of America and the UAE to their loved ones in Ghana with immediate effect.

The company in a statement said it understands how important it is for clients to stay connected and support their families, and is thrilled to bring this service back.

It explained that “This pause was due to a temporary directive from the Bank of Ghana suspending our partnership with local banks and fintechs in Ghana for one month, which concerned our newly launched wallet product.”

According to the company, the Bank of Ghana lifted the suspension on 4th December 2024, ahead of the one-month deadline initially envisaged, “thereby enabling Taptap Send to resume our much-loved money transfer service the Ghanaian diaspora have come to know and trust.”

“We are excited to resume transfers to Ghana for the thousands of Ghanaians who have come to rely on Taptap Send for their money transfers in the past years,” said Darryl Mawutor Abraham, Head of Taptap Send Africa.

“We truly appreciate the patience, love, support and understanding of our customers during the suspension period and we are committed to serving the Ghanaian diaspora in full compliance with all applicable regulations.”

Taptap Send is a global fintech company offering digital-only cross-border money transfer services via regulated entities in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada and the UAE.

Taptap Send’s regulatory status remains intact and it is committed to continuing to comply with all relevant regulations.
