The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has extended its congratulations to Ghana's President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, on his victory in the 2024 presidential elections.
Mahama, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), emerged victorious after defeating his main rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
This win marks Mahama’s return to the presidency, following the conclusion of his previous tenure in 2016.
In a formal statement, the GOC commended Mahama’s “longstanding commitment to youth empowerment, sports development, and promotion, as well as the creation of an enabling environment to attract sports investment.”
The organization also reaffirmed its dedication to promoting sports and nurturing young talent, assuring Mahama of its support and cooperation in advancing his government’s youth and sports agenda.
