The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has issued a warning to the public against attempts to disarm military personnel on authorised duty.
This caution follows reports of mobs targeting military officers deployed to support the Ghana Police Service in maintaining law and order across the country.
In a statement signed by the Brigadier General, Director General Public Relations, E. Aggrey-Quarshie, noted that "GAF wishes to caution all and sundry that military personnel on authorised duty have the right to defend themselves, innocent civilians, and property, including the use of lethal force, if necessary to preserve life."
GAF therefore urged Ghanaians to exercise their civic rights responsibly, cooperate with security personnel, and avoid any actions that could disrupt the peace.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation's stability and sovereignty, urging all citizens to support efforts to restore calm during these critical times.
