The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has acknowledged the will of Ghanaians following the 2024 elections on Saturday.
Addressing the press on Sunday morning, hours after the polls, he said the former President, John Dramani Mahama had won the election decisively.
On behalf of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he expressed respect for the electoral process and the choice made by the people of Ghana.
“The people of Ghana have spoken. The people have voted for change at this time, and we respect that decision with all humility,” he said.
He emphasised that he had always believed in the peaceful nature of Ghana’s electoral process, stating, “As I said during the signing of the peace pact, I was sure of two things: Ghana will win, and peace will reign.”
The Vice President reflected on the journey and expressed gratitude to God for how far he had come, submitting to His will as the nation moves forward with a new administration.
