Presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has warned military personnel allegedly involved in disrupting parliamentary result declarations in some constituencies.
In a social media post shared as election results continue to trickle in, the former President condemned the supposed violent actions attributed to "unscrupulous military personnel" deployed to certain areas.
He described their activities as attempts to cause mayhem and interfere with the electoral process.
“This is to caution the personnel involved that they will be held individually liable and responsible for their actions,” Mahama stated.
His remarks come amid heightened tensions in some constituencies, where incidents of violence and alleged interference by security forces have raised concerns among stakeholders and observers.
Meanwhile, the EC says it has no hand in military deployment as the security issues are handled by the Election Security Task Force.
Observers are closely monitoring the situation as the collation of results continues nationwide.
