The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, Benjamin Komla Kpodo, has inaugurated a fully equipped e-library and renovated classroom blocks for the Nuriya Islamic School.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Kpodo cited provision of the e-library as a demonstration of his commitment to education, highlighted development projects undertaken during his tenure.
The newly refurbished facility, equipped with 20 computers and designed to serve both students and teachers, reflects the MP’s vision for bridging the digital divide in education.
“No one today gets information only from books. With this facility, students and teachers can access global resources online and enhance their studies. This is about preparing our youth for the future,” he explained.
The MP acknowledged the challenges of incorporating technology in education but underscored the importance of building capacity among teachers and students alike.
"Even those of us born before computers must learn to adapt. Proper usage and maintenance of these facilities are critical for their longevity and effectiveness,” he advised.
Mr. Kpodo also expressed optimism that the facility would continue to serve the community even after his tenure as MP, calling on future leaders to uphold the culture of care and development.
The Ho Municipal Director of Education, Esther Adzo Adzimah-Yeboah lauded the initiative, describing the e-library as an essential resource in advancing education in the municipality.
"Technology rules the world now, and this facility ensures that our learners are not left behind. Unlike in the past, where accessing information was cumbersome, this e-library provides an opportunity for seamless learning," she remarked.
She further urged students and teachers to embrace the facility, noting its potential to transform teaching and learning in the municipality.
“With access to technology, our learners can explore various search engines and resources that enhance their education. This inauguration marks a significant milestone, and we are deeply grateful to Honorable Benjamin Kpodo and all stakeholders for making this possible,” Dr. Adzimah-Yeboah added.
