Jemima Abena Konadu Mensah, the Ga East Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has urged the electorate to avoid misinformation and disinformation during the electoral process.
She said this would ensure that they avoid vote buying, and can hold public officers accountable at the end of the four-year term.
Mr Mensah was speaking during a peace forum to educate the electorate on the voting process while encouraging them to participate in the process of electing new leaders for the country.
She said it was to bring parliamentary candidates into the Dome Kwabenya constituency together to enable voters to be given assurances of peace before and after the general election.
Mrs Mensah said if they did not come out to vote for their preferred candidates others would go and elect someone who may not be their choice to represent them in the next parliament and they might not be happy with the outcome.
The parliamentary candidates took their turn to talk about fostering peaceful coexistence amongst their supporters and assured them that the election would be a peaceful one.
They urged everyone to come out on December 7, 2024, to vote for their preferred candidate to represent them in the next parliament.
Political parties pledged to ensure that the elections would be peaceful and urged all voters to have confidence in the Electoral Commission and the Police Service.
