With just two days to go for the general elections on December 7, Ghanaians are gearing up to cast their votes, with many expressing a strong desire for a peaceful process.

Speaking to JoyNews, traders at the Makola Market in Accra, shared their plans to arrive early at polling stations to avoid long queues on election day.

Joy News' Hannah Odame and Jennifer August visited the bustling market to assess the mood of the electorate.

At Makola, a trader expressed readiness for the election, even stating that she wished it could take place today, December 5. She encouraged fellow Ghanaians to go out and vote for their preferred presidential and parliamentary candidates.

There appears to be a strong desire for unity, with several individuals stressing the importance of peaceful post-election conduct.

One market-goer emphasized that regardless of the election outcome, all parties should respect the results and work together to ensure the country's continued stability.

In a time of heightened political tension, the message from citizens across the country is clear: they want a smooth and peaceful election free from conflict.
