A book written by Rev. Dr. Abu Bako of Logos Rhema has urged voters to be strategic in voting, saying, the state of the nation falls back to them.
It said the burden on governance lies in the hands of voters, and therefore voters must not carry that responsibility carelessly.
Citing the bible in many occasions, the author of the book said “We are in an era where we cannot afford to fulfil. We must bring forth the best and most effective governments for our nations in order to fulfil the Great Commission”.
The author also spoke about the need for the focus of the elections to shift from the candidate to the voter
“When the focus is on what the nation requires as a result of well-educated voters, then the candidates will have to step up to the challenge by convincing the voters that they indeed can deliver the vision”, he mentioned.
On the issue of candidate based versus voter-based elections, Dr. Abu Bako said the current season requires the focus to be shifted from the candidate to the voter, adding, “This is what makes the selection of leaders more strategic and effective”.
“When the focus is on what the nation the nation requires as a result of the well-educated voters, then the candidates will have to step up to the challenge by convincing the voters that they indeed can deliver the vision.”
He continued that if the elections were voter-based, there would be fewer leaders coming to dismantle any effort the former regime made, and start their own thing.
He also added that there was no benchmark and standard that politicians can be measured or compared their own personal vision with.
The book is divided into eight chapters.
Chapter 1 outlines the Ruling with God, with Chapter 2 explaining A Retrospective Digression and Chapter 3 The Power of Words. Chapter 4 captures The Media and Words and Chapter 5 Employers without Vision. Chapters 6 and 7 discuss Good Stewardship and The Power of the Vote. Chapter 8 however outlines Every Vote has Angelic Supervision.
The book expounds the very solemn stages of votership and its direct relation to the patterns of ancient covenant making.
