The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Council of Elders has asked its polling agents to uphold their responsibilities and help safeguard Ghana’s future during the 2024 elections.
This appeal was made at a press conference chaired by Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, addressing those tasked with ensuring the integrity of the electoral process on 7th December.
Alhaji Iddrisu emphasised the critical role polling agents play in maintaining transparency and accountability at polling stations.
He commended them for their dedication and the time invested in training and preparation. “Your commitment to this task is invaluable, and your efforts are key to ensuring a fair and credible election,” he said, highlighting their importance in strengthening Ghana’s democracy.
The Council urged polling agents to approach their duties with loyalty, diligence, and patriotism, and described the assignment as a national duty intended to secure a brighter future for Ghanaian youth and pave the way for a government committed to the welfare of all citizens.
“This is a historic moment to end the pain and hardship inflicted on Ghanaians,” the Council added, reflecting on the significance of the upcoming elections.
The NDC Council of Elders reminded polling agents to remain vigilant, professional, and resilient in the face of challenges.
They encouraged agents to take pride in their role in safeguarding democracy and ensuring the will of the people is accurately represented in the election results, stressing their pivotal position in shaping the nation’s future.
