National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate for election 2024, John Dramani Mahama, has urged residents of Mampong in the Ashanti Region to vote for the NDC in the upcoming general elections.
According to him, the NDC is the only party that has the interest of the people at heart, ensuring the national cake is shared equally.
Speaking on the first day of his tour of the NPP’s stronghold, the presidential candidate for the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, recounted a trip he embarked on to India as Vice President during the late former President Mills administration, where some negotiations took place regarding communities they could support.
“I remember I paid a diplomatic visit to India during the late Prof. Mills administration, the Indian government mentioned that they wanted to support a few communities in Ghana with regards to the challenges we are facing when it comes to our water bodies. I included Mampong in the list of communities I provided,” he recalled.
He said the NDC is committed to equitable development and better governance.
He said parties are usually complacent due to the belief that they will get support from their strongholds regardless of their performance. Mr Mahama emphasized the point that the NDC prioritizes development even in areas outside its stronghold.
“So, as for the NDC we are there for everyone regardless of your affiliation to any political party. We share to the benefit of everyone,” he reiterated.
