Ghanaian actor and broadcaster, Mikki Osei-Berko has said in an interview with Joy Prime that he might go back to politics.
When Mikki, who was an Assembly Member for the Ayidiki Electoral Area in Accra about 20 years ago, was asked by the host, Roselyn Felli, about the possibility of returning to politics but this time around as a parliamentarian, he replied "probably yes,"
"Because I think there are so many things that our parliamentarians have not looked at. I feel that governance in this country has not been so creative, they only take taxes and borrow money. But I feel that there are opportunities that can bring the country money and sustain the citizenry through creativity and business-oriented governance," he explained.
Speaking about his position as an Assembly Member in the past, he said on Changes "I went as an independent candidate on the direction of God. I didn't even think about it with anybody. I took the decision on the inspiration of God. I contested, everybody thought that I couldn't win but I won."
However, he had to do just one term because he needed to leave the country to further his education.
"Even before the term ended I had the opportunity to go outside to school. I went to the New York Film Academy to study film production so before the term ended I had to go and I thought that it was better to educate myself and come back a better person than just remain in politics," he said.
Known for funny characters like Kokonsa on Radio Gold, Dada Boat, and Master Richard on both radio and television, Mikki Osei-Berko is loved for his immaculate roles in movies and entertaining commercials.
