The Western Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Joseph Nelson has declared Deputy Majority Leader of Ghana's Parliament as the shining light of the Western Region.
According to him, the efforts of the lawmaker to spread development in his constituency and other parts of the region are unprecedented.
He was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of Santaso in the Ellembelle Constituency on Saturday to climax the commissioning of a community-based health facility and donation of motorbikes to the Ellembelle district health directorate when he made the declaration.

He said the exemplary leadership offered by the lawmaker since he assumed his political duties and public service, has earned him respect among his peers in the NDC and among traditional leaders.
Consequently, the NDC scribe asserted that "Ellenbelle has become the envy of the Western Region".
He told the Member of Parliament openly that his attractive name had become a household one across the region. "Your name goes beyond this constituency”.
He said the respect garnered by the former Minister of State had stemmed from his selflessness and willpower to continue to push the development of his constituency and Western Region to the top through his political career is admirable.
In a clear testimony, Daniel Akurigu Mbii, a representative of Zongo communities in the Ellembelle area, also said they will continue to work hard to support the MP to deliver his desired goals of helping poor and underprivileged communities.
He said the Ellembelle Constituency would once again reward the MP at the polls following the numerous projects he has successfully undertaken and spearheaded in the cocoa-growing areas.
The MP commissioned a community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Centre at Santaso in the Anyinase North Zone of the Ellembelle District in the Western Region.
The facility would provide essential healthcare services to surrounding communities.
Its establishment, he said would serve as a vital primary healthcare service and the first point of contact, effectively bridging the gap in healthcare disparities and promoting equitable access for all residents”.
The lawmaker also donated 10 motorcycles to the Ellembelle District Health Directorate, to boost healthcare workers' mobility and accessibility to hard-to-reach communities for engagements and other public health outreach programmes, especially in the remote areas.
Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah additionally distributed equipment to beneficiaries of the "Skill-up Ellembelle" initiative, Phase Two.
