Heart of Lions hammered Legon Cities 3-0 at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Sunday in match week 12 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.

The win means the hosts jump from fourth to third on the table with 21 points while the Royals are one place above the bottom with 11 points.

Bashir Hayford’s Lions have now won four of their last five matches and are unbeaten in that period.

Former Hearts of Oak forward Kwadwo Obeng Junior scored the opening goal after 21 minutes to send Heart of Lions into the break with the lead.

Mustapha Yakubu doubled the hosts’ lead at the hour mark before Nana Oppong wrapped up the scoring with the third goal six minutes later.

The Ghana Premier League will go on a two-week break for the 2024 General Elections.
