Black Stars team manager, Ameenu Shardow has admitted they have disappointed the country by failing to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next year.

Ghana finished at the bottom of the Group F having failed to register a single victory after six matches.

The four-time African champions ended the qualifiers with a 2-1 home loss to Niger; a result that ended Ghana's sixteen-year unbeaten streak in Accra.

Reflecting on the outcome, Shardow said "we have let Ghanaians down by failing to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)," in an interview with Accra-based radio station, Happy FM.

Having made a semi-final at each AFCON tournament from 2008 to 2017, Ghana will now have to watch the tournament from home, for the first time since 2004.

Meanwhile, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association will meet on Wednesday to review Ghana's dismal showing in the qualifiers.

While head coach Otto Addo's performance will be reviewed, there are no indications that he will be sacked.
