The Concerned Asante Youth has strongly condemned the recent comments made by Dela Edem, a prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), regarding former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
The group expressed their dissatisfaction with what they described as a “deeply hurtful and malicious accusation” that, in their view, undermined basic human decency.
In a statement released, the youth group expressed concern that such remarks were not only disrespectful to the former president but also intended to tarnish his reputation.
The group believes that Edem’s attack on Kufuor was unprovoked and goes against the values of respect and civility that should guide political discourse in the country.
The Concerned Asante Youth went on to call on the Asante people to remain vigilant and rise above any political plots that seek to divide or cause discord within the community.
They emphasised that the comments made by Edem were part of a broader agenda that could undermine the unity and well-being of the region.
“This is a wake-up call for all well-meaning Asantes to rise against the malicious plans of the NDC,” the statement read.
The group further urged the Asante people to stand united in the face of such attacks and to not allow divisive rhetoric to sway their political convictions.
