In an unexpected turn of events at the just-ended Joy Prime Made in Ghana Fair, the JoyLearning channel team won the cooking contest among all the Joy brands of the Multimedia Group.
The competition, which took place on the last day of the fair, Sunday at the Ghud Park, saw representatives from departments including Joy 99.7 FM, Joy Prime, JoyLearning, JoySports, and the Sales Team battled their way in the kitchen to claim bragging rights as the best in culinary skills.
After 30 minutes of cooking, JoyLearning emerged the winner, bagging the right and some goodies from some sponsors.
The team, represented by Augustina Tawiah and assisted by Roselyn Felli, struggled to find their footing at the beginning of the competition due to the heavy wind blowing on their side of the kitchen. However, they persevered and made their way through.
Team Joy Prime, represented by Michelle Agyekum and Lois Shola Adeyemi, and the Sales Department, represented by Rebecca and Diana, secured second place, while Team Joy FM, represented by Akorfa, emerged in third place.
Unfortunately, the day did not turn out well for the JoySports team, represented by Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo and Muftawu Nabila Abdulai, as they were placed fourth and took home Gari Mix from JW Foods Limited, proving that they are best in the field and not the kitchen.
The JoyLearning team took home cylinders provided by Supreme Fibre Cylinders, products from KORA, and T-shirts from MPO Limited.
The Joy Prime Made in Ghana Fair, which commenced on Thursday, 14th November, has officially concluded, receiving commendations from patrons for its successful organisation.
The event attracted significant participation, offering a platform for small and medium-scale enterprises dealing in locally made products to showcase their creativity and innovation across various sectors, including textiles and garments, food and beverages, and manufacturing.
On the final day, vendors offered their products at heavily discounted prices, allowing patrons to save on their purchases.
To end the fair on a lively note, a cooking contest was held, featuring radio and TV presenters from all Joy brands, providing an entertaining climax to the event.
