The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has appealed to Ghanaians to avoid repeating the mistakes of the 2016 and 2020 elections by voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He emphasised that choosing the NDC in the upcoming elections is crucial for changing the country’s current direction.
Addressing a crowd at a mini rally at the Nsawam Adoagyiri lorry station in the Eastern Region, Mahama encouraged voters to seize this opportunity to improve Ghana's fortunes by supporting him and the NDC.
He stressed that a shift in leadership is needed to tackle the country's challenges.
As he began his 5-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region on Monday, November 18, Mr Mahama pointed out that many NPP supporters are disillusioned with the party’s leadership.
He noted that this dissatisfaction has led to a waning interest among them in this year’s elections.
Mahama urged disenchanted NPP supporters to cast their vote for the NDC, signalling a desire for new governance that will address the country's needs and aspirations.
“In 2016 we made a wrong choice, in 2020 we repeated that choice but I know that on 7th December 2024, we are going to correct the mistake that we made and bring NDC back into government.”
“…At all times, everyone wants a good life and development. There are consequences to our choices: if we vote well, there will be freedom and development; but if we don’t, there will be hardships. So, December 7th is another opportunity to right the wrong by voting for the NDC,” he stated.
