The Board Chair of Telecel Group and Senior Management Team of the telco have embarked on a series of high-profile visits to some of its key clients in Kumasi.
As part of Telecel Ghana’s Ashanti Month celebrations, the enterprise visits were to understand the evolving needs of its high-value customers, strengthen business relationships and explore potential areas for improvement.
Among the notable visits were the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), DBS Industries, Karima Auto Shipping, Lotto and Lotteries, Giant Traders and Participatory Development Associate, among others.
Visiting the Vice Chancellor of KNUST, which has long been a partner in the telco’s efforts to expand connectivity and digital education in the country, Telecel Group’s Board Chair, Nicolas Bourg said the company was committed to supporting the educational institution to advance its connectivity infrastructure.
"The quality of a country’s education is reflected in their quality of life. We understand the importance of providing reliable and fast connectivity for both students and faculty, which is why we are here today to listen, understand, and ensure that our services align with KNUST's evolving needs,” Mr Bourg said.
CEO of Telecel Ghana and KNUST alumnus, Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, reminiscing about her years as an electrical engineering student, assured the university of Telecel’s improved connectivity service to remain a beacon of knowledge and innovation in Ghana.
“I understand the power of a strong foundation in education and innovation. Telecel Ghana holds this partnership in high esteem, and we will continue to offer KNUST improved connectivity to ensure it stays at the forefront of scientific and technological advancements,” Ing. Obo-Nai said.
The Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, expressed her gratitude for Telecel's continued support, noting that the partnership has always been built on a shared vision for innovation and progress.
“Telecel Ghana’s connectivity has been vital in supporting our academic and research programmes, most specifically, fuelling how we run our e-learning centres. Our graduates are dominating the fields of engineering, health, agriculture and technology.
"Our collaboration with Telecel has positioned us well in this regard, and we are excited to see where this partnership will take us,” Prof. Dickson said.
Telecel Ghana provides connectivity services to KNUST’s over 90,000 students and faculty members across its main and satellite campuses in Ghana.
The courtesy visits form part of Telecel Ghana’s 2024 Ashanti Month celebrations in Kumasi, which include key activities such as headlining the 67th Asantehene Open Golf Tournament, digital and financial skills training for women entrepreneurs, health screenings, clearing the medical bills of indebted patients in the regional hospital and a series of market activations.
