The event was officially launched by the Deputy Registrar, Mrs Cyntia Adu, who was representing representing Mrs Emilia Agyei Mensah, the University Registrar.
Mrs Adu expressed excitement about the launch, stating that the games are designed to be inclusive and fun, offering an opportunity for the university community to bond and promote teamwork.
"The University of Ghana is more than a place of learning; it is a vibrant community filled with individuals from all walks of life who can benefit from social events like this," she said.
This event aligns with the university’s new strategic plan, launched in August 2023, which focuses on five key priorities over the next five years. One of these priorities is supporting the well-being of faculty and staff. The Community Games are part of the university's commitment to enhancing health and wellness on campus.

Mrs. Adu encouraged all members of the university to step out of their comfort zones, participate, support one another, and enjoy the spirit of friendly competition.
