Fontomfrom Empire, organizers of the esteemed Fontomfrom Amandze Awards, has announced a month-long cultural celebration, the Fontomfrom Amandze Art and Culture Festival, set to take place in November 2025.
This major event, which promises to be a vibrant addition to the Western Region's Creative Arts calendar, aims to spotlight local arts, crafts, and cultural heritage while drawing tourism and creating opportunities for the region’s artists and craftspeople.
In a grand launch and stakeholders’ engagement at Raybow International Hotel on Saturday, November 2, 2024, Fontomfrom Empire’s team lead, Eva Sheita Kumah, shared her enthusiasm for this upcoming cultural showcase.
"Western Region has always celebrated diverse festivals, yet our arts and crafts sector often doesn't get the recognition it deserves," Miss Kuma expressed.
She continued; “This festival is about more than festivities; it’s a commitment to elevate our creative arts, highlight our heritage, and bolster our regional economy.”
Miss Kumah emphasised that the festival’s goal extends beyond celebration; it seeks to empower local artists, preserve heritage sites, and showcase traditional artifacts.
By engaging with the arts and crafts sector, Fontomfrom Empire hopes to foster cultural exchange, boost tourism, and provide employment opportunities within Western Region.
The festival will commence with an Arts and Culture Seminar on November 8, 2025, and culminate in a grand celebration on November 28, 2025, with the highly anticipated Fontomfrom Amandze Awards.
Macall Mensah, a member of the Fontomfrom Empire team also revealed that the art and culture festival on 15th November 2025 will include an exciting lineup, including cultural parades, food and crafts markets, historical storytelling, art installations, and live music performances.
Moreover, the festival will incorporate eco-conscious activities, such as clean-up drives, eco-art workshops, and sustainability talks in partnership with environmental organisations.
The launch drew key dignitaries and stakeholders in Ghana’s creative sector. Notable personalities at the launch include Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah (MP for Takoradi and Western Regional Minister), Nana Kwesi Agyeman IX (Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove), Nana Egya Kwamina XI (Chief of Apremdo), Mr. Justice Acquah (Managing Director, Sankofa Mines), and representatives from various organisations, including Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the Environmental Protection Agency, Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly(STMA), Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly(EKMA) and Takoradi Technical University.
With its mission to promote Western region’s rich cultural heritage and empower its arts and crafts community, the 2025 Fontomfrom Amandze Art and Culture Festival promises to be a cultural milestone, blending tradition with modern celebration and showcasing the artistic and cultural wealth of Ghana’s Western Region.
