Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams has said his brother made the right decision by rejecting Barcelona’s overtures last summer.
Nico, the younger of the Williams brothers, was the subject of F.C Barcelona’s interest following an excellent European Championship campaign with Spain.
In the end, Nico Williams decided against swapping the Basque region for Barcelona.
Looking back on the episode, Inaki who appeared as a guest together with his brother on La Revuelta show on Spain’s LA 1 channel, said “It was a very long summer (for Nico). It was a summer It was a very long, very hard summer (for him). It was a summer of having to make decisions. After several months, for me he has made the right one.”

Iñaki is now looking forward to playing alongside brother Nico in the Europa League for the first time.
“Now we have a dream to fulfil, like the whole team. There are few of us who have been lucky enough to play in European competition with Athletic Club, and now we are going to fulfil the dream of many.”
